The Core Concept: The Market is an Auction
At its core, every financial market is simply a continuous, two-way auction. Just like a physical auction, prices move up and down based on real-time supply and demand until buyers and sellers agree on a fair value.
Auction Market Theory is the study of this exact process. It maps out where trading volume is heavy, where buyers are stepping in aggressively, and where sellers are defending their positions.
The Edge: Reading the Present, Not the Past
Most traditional retail traders rely on historical price patterns and lagging technical indicators. They are essentially making financial decisions by looking in the rearview mirror.
